Declawing is a legal barbaric amputation of each claw bone leaving kitty suffering silently 24/7/365. Cats are known to hide pain, if they show pain, they become prey. AVMA started declawing in 1952 for profits only, they know many declawed cats are dumped for behavior issues and refuse to publish onychectomy studies because they do not want the public to know the forever pain that occurs in all declawed cats. Veterinarians do not explain the procedure and sugarcoat the procedure because profits are more important. Declawing a cat is the equivalent of cutting all ten fingers of a human's hand at the first knuckle. Declawing is a billion dollar industry that benefits veterinarians, not felines. Many cat parents are devastated once they have learned what they put their beloved felines through and vow to never declaw again.
